Bees in hives need looking after like any other stock animal or pet. It is important to know what they do at different times of the year and what our role is in supporting that activity.
While differing methods of beekeeping advocate varying degrees of intervention in the hive, the annual cycle within the colony is to some extent fairly predictable (with the weather and the seasons).
